Sunset timelapse with Sony PXW Z150
Hello
I wonder if anyone can give me a quick tip for shooting a timelapse on my video camera. My aim is to see the process of lights coming on in a high rise building as the sun sets in London. I’m concerned about exposure of course. I don’t need to see the sun, only the building and it’s light. I’m at quite a distance though and zooming right in.
Any pointers would be very welcome.

I’d use a shutter priority setting, so that your motion blur remains consistent. Then let the camera take care of the appropriate aperture and gain settings. Longer shutter times are good for timelapse, to get that nice pretty motion-trail look in the clouds and moving objects. I’ve shot some timelapse on my FS7 at 1 fps that worked pretty darn well. You’ll be limited to 1080p using the Z150’s Slow & Quick function, though.
Day-to-night timelapse is never super easy, and you may have to do some post-production deflickering of the footage.
My advice–shoot a test in similar conditions at home. Then you can correct any problems that arise
