  • Suitable Codec for transfering over internet and then broadcast

Our station is opening a bureau in a city a hour or so to our south. The plan is to outfit a single reporter/photographer with a notebook running some form of Avid software and a DVX-100 or similar DV camera. The catch, as usual, is to do it cheap. So the idea is the reporter can send a package via the internet back to us, and we dump it to tape. We have a company wide system that uses MPEG-2 for transmission, but Avid doesn’t export that anymore, and I DO NOT want the reporter to have to mess with sorenson or a third party program and Avid can’t import WMV’s. I need a good quicktime (or something)exporting codec that can limit the file size of a 1:30 package to 150MBs. What’s good, and what is small?
