Suggestions Please
I would like a new camcorder and I need your suggestions please.
This is what I will use it for:
I like making special effects demos (ie: light-saber fights, superpowers etc) in After effects. (I know… geek). Its all just for fun.
Primarily I use all Adobe products on an Imac for editing/processing. (AE, Prem Pro etc)
I’d like HD
I’d prefer Solid media (mostly for convenience of transferring clips to computer. Though i’m open to suggestions.
I would also be using this camcorder for vacations and such.
I would like to keep the bill around 1000$cdn (800ish US)
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!Mycal

Have you searched and asked around the HD and camera specific forums? This is not a technology forum. This forum is for business and marketing related questions. Not for “help me pick out a home camera I can use to play in After Effects.” Sorry to be abrupt.

I would look at the AVCHD format and memory card (not built in HD) storage. If you can ramp up the cost then go with AVCCAM…if you can go higher go AVC Intra..but there are plenty of AVCHD camcorders in your price range…Sony and Panasonic are usually good bets..
