    Hi, all

I’ve been interested in the idea of live projection-mapping onto stage performers for some time now. I’m talking about visual effects that use motion tracking to follow and interact with people’s movements. So far, I’ve stumbled on Isadora’s infra red tracking, as well as Kinect combined with something called Open Frameworks. However, I haven’t worked with either of the two, and have only heard of people using them for this purpose. Does anyone here have experience with motion-tracking combined with projection? My main intention for this would be to do some “advanced vjing” for live bands, and have designs that appear to trace the outline of their guitars and particles explode out from drum sets, etc. Are there any tips you all have on which combination of tools have worked in the past for this type of thing?

    Thank you!!

Thanks Matt! Regarding Blacktrax tho, I see it costs thousands of dollars and is more geared towards big events. I’m looking for a much smaller scale solution, for personal use and smaller venues. Is there something similar to blacktrax that costs less?
