  • Suggesting a budget for a foreign production company

    Hi fellow producers,

A foreign production company contacted me willing to hire a local freelance producer or a co-production company to organize the shooting of their short film in France.

Since this is my first time to work with a foreign company, I don’t know how to proceed with budget calculation; should I include my company rate to the budget? Or, make it separate?

By including in the budget I mean – for example, renting a car would normally cost, let’s say 40Euros a day, so in the budget I write 45euros for example.
By making it separate I mean – writing the real costs of all needed materials/crew/props… etc. as they are, and ask that production company to pay an extra fee for the whole project.

How would you do it guys? They sent me a script and a list of requirement (how many shooting days, how many extras they will need…)

    Thank you so much!
