Sudden brightness changes just before transitions and cuts in QT Player on PC

May 31, 2006 at 8:09 amHi,
I have the following workflow: capturing DVCam footage using the analog component input of the Decklink SP. I’m using a Mac G5 with Final Cut Pro. I’m editing in a Photo Jpeg timeline (easy setup: Blackmaic PAL JPEG). When exporting the edit as self contained reference movie and opening it in QT pro on my PC there are sudden brightness changes just 2-4 frames before some (not all) of the cuts and dissolves. Before some of the cuts the picture gets brighter before some of the others it gets darker. These brightness changes only appear in QT on my PC.
To have a comparison I threw the contents of the very same Photo JPEG Timeline into a DV PAL sequence and exported it as a self contained reference movie. When opening this movie in the Quicktime Player on my PC, there were NO such brightness changes.Does anybody know of this problem? Can anything be done about this?
Thanks in advance,
Christian HoffmannMy setup: G5 2.5, OSX 10.4.6, QT 7.1, FCP 5.0.4, Decklink SP with drivers 5.5
Win XP SP 2, QTpro 7.1 with mpeg2 player component. Decklink codecs installed.
