I am new to FCP. I have this project with lots of graphics and texts that some where generated withing FCP and some come from Photoshop and so… When I make scale and/or make position adjustments of this graphics I get this jagged borders. Is this due to the lack of subpixel accuracy in the render?
    Thanx!

First you should be judging the quality of the images on an external video monitor, and not rely on the Canvas to show you the actual quality of the renders. They might look fine there. (or not)

If you create titles in Title 3D and use it’s positioning in it’s controls, you’ll find much better looking titles. (especially with DV material).

Any time you use the motion tab to move a title, you are turning it into a bit mapped graphic, and it won’t look as good as a vector based graphic will look (which is what Title 3D creates).

It could be due to that. Since we know nothing about the graphics your using or the resolution your editing in it’s pretty hard to tell anything about your project or give any advice.

    Hope this helps-

are you using FCP v5 ?

before v5, there was no filtering on scaling/translate of layers. This made high resolution graphics appear blocky and flickery when animated. so if you’re using FCP 4.5, I you should either do your text/graphics in AE or then updgrade to FCP 5.

Furthermore, i’m not sure that the default text generator does subpixel rendering…
