    Hey guys,

Having trouble working out creating a splash in Cinema 4d. I posted a few week back that I needed to make a splash of water coming from a submarine that was breaking the surface of the ocean. I received a post that sent me back to a tutorial on Lynda.com on how to create a splash of water with metaballs but no matter how I tweak it it doesn’t seem to look like water shearing off of and emanating from a surfacing submarine. The water seems too thick and the drops look like flying spheres. I have attached a picture that
    accurately depicts what I need.

    Thank you,

    Tony

I think you’re going to have a real hard time doing that without a dedicated liquid simulator like DPIT Effex or RealFlow.

    Hy Tony,
    Sorry for my bad English,
First try with PyroCluster to create a basic Waterfall that you can multiply and combinate together to make numerous varations by changing scale, speed, transparency, etc. to create downfalling Water overall your Submarine by setting the 3 PyroCluster Shape Scales to 2 / 10 / 0,2, Volume 90%, Luminosity 12, Density 5, Emitter Birthrate around 24, Angle Horiz. 15° Vertic. 5°, Visibility 100%, Speed minimum 330. For the splashing Water always use PyroCluster to make some combinations with White/Blue shaded Explosions and inside an other Particle Emitter/Gravity for the different sized Waterdrops. That needs some time of experimentation and a long Render Time, but you can obtain a verry photorealistic result.

Here a Test Pic with simple Waterfall, without Waterdrops Emitter.
