I am currently in the process of syncing audio to rushes shot on the Alexa. The number of audio channels varies from 4-8 depending on the setup. I am currently syncing the footage to the audio in a sequence. I then in/out each synced clip & option drag to make a sub-sequence. I then autosync this to create a subclip, the master clip & synced audio.

The editor would like to only work with the mono mix which is on track 1 and be able to match frame back to the clip will all tracks when require. I have subclipped my subclips turning off all tracks of audio except the required track so we now have a clip with 1 video layer & 1 audio layer.

My problem is that when you match frame this ‘mono-mix’ subclip, it goes straight back to the mute master clip, skipping the synced subclip.

Does anyone know how this can be achieved so the editor can happily work with the mono-mix clip knowing he’ll be able to get back to the seperate mics when required?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Matchframe from the sequence to the synced clip. Then, on the SOURCE side, DEselect the V track and hit MatchFrame again.

That is exactly what we have ended up doing. I have been assisting on a project where the editor was yet to start so I was frankly ‘over-worrying’ the details of the project.

Thanks very much for your help & speedy reply.
