Is there a way to use Stylize>Glow so that it works when you render Straight with Alpha?
    Thanks.

it should render straight with alpha just fine.

what’s the issue you are seeing…? no transparency, doesn’t key correctly, doesn’t look correct, etc… there may be another issue that’s causing the problem.

    Maybe it’s the A-B colors.

possibly… it depends on the coors and what you’re seeing…

if on of the colors was black, then it would be rendering black in the rgb channels, and that would make it look like it was premultiplied rather than straight.

That’s it. Maybe I should make the B color the same as the A? I wish we could simply select transparency.

If I click on the transparency icon to hide the background, I see the glow going all the way to an edge instead of fading.

if you wanted the glow to be all one color, the yes, set them both the same… it will have the same effect as making it transparent (it is actually transparent, but as it fades from opaque to transparent, it also fades from color a to b).

as dave mentions, the glow blending mode (the ‘glow operation’) can make the preview render misleading… with add, screen or lighten you may not see the black when you have a layer on in the background, but if you render without that layer, it will have the black. if you set the glow operation to ‘normal’ you’ll get a better idea of how it will render with alpha.
