‘stuttery’ and ‘juddery’ framerate
I’ve been coming across a lot of AVI and MKV clips lately with these ‘juddery’ framerate issue’s in the source, steppy frames, that sort of thing. Which carries over into an encoded/authored DVD (or BluRay) and is very annoying. And it affects either PAL or NTSC material equally.
I’m curious if anyone has any recommendations to ‘smooth out’ the problem with an encoder or transcoder (Compressor or any other 3rd party app)? -

Not much you can do- it’s garbage in and garbage out. Can you identify the source issue? Bad NTSC/PAL conversion? Incorrect frame rate?
