I am shooting with a HPX500. I have trouble with stuttering footage when shooting in 1080i 24p mode. I know that large DOF, pan speeds and shutter settings play a factor. But when shooting the same subjects in 720 24pn mode with no shutter, I don’t have the same issues. Can anyone help shed some light on this issue? Does anyone have any good setting adjustments to help?

Also, if I strip the pull-down from 1080i 24pA footage using Final Cut Pro, does it make that footage effectively 1080p?

Yes, in FCP it will be 1080p @ 23.98 sf, the frame is broken up into two segments but these segments are put together to make a perfect frame. No temporal difference between the segments.

Are you seeing the shutter after you remove the pulldown? Can you post a sample clip?
