stuttering playback in Multicam
I’ve upgraded to Premier Pro cc 2014.1 or version 8.1…whatever is the proper nomenclature for the latest version of PP CC 2014 and in multi cam sequences I’m getting very stuttered playback after a few seconds of play.
This is a sequence using 4 channels of video, two from XDCAM EX cameras, 1080/30p and two from Canon 5D MarkIII, 1080/30P. The timeline is set for 1080/30P ProRes. Changing playback resolution seems to have no effect on the stuttering issue, seems to do it as much at 1/8th resolution as it does at full. Of course looks pretty bad at 1/8th.
my layout on a two monitor system is to have the timeline and multi cam monitor on one screen with the multi cam monitor taking up 60% of the real-estate.
Any suggestions on making a smoother playback? Also on an AJA speed test my drives are running well at: Write 150.7 MB/s and read: 161.9MB/s using a 4GB file size for the test.

Is this occurring on an updated project or a new project. I think most would agree to never update a project file that is in progress. Can you try a new project? Reacting the same way or differently? Is it too late to go back to 8.0.1?Thanks,

Good Point, but it happens on new projects with assets brought in through media browser. Just to test I started a new project, only imported 4 clips for the 4 cameras, made a multi clip, then a sequence from the multi clip just to be sure it wasn’t my ProRes timeline and have the same issue as in the my previous project.
These are also different clips and program than the first one in which I had the problem.
