I have a quciktime DV file catured from Mpeg Streamclip of a DVD. The orignal DVD has a problem where some of the motion appears to be jittery. This is especially noticable on canera pans and animation portios of the video. It seems to be something from the source material as it shows even when just playing the DVD normally. I do not have access to any other masters unfortunately. I’m looking for a FCP solution to attempt to smooth out the motion a little bit without looking too unnatrual. Any suggestions?

A little more info. i went through the footage frame by frame and found the cause of the problem. Every 5ht and 6th frames are duplicates. Not sure if this helps with any methods of remvoing the problem.

I’ve run into those problems as well taking in footage from DVD’s that are 24P. Have you tried not using the normal ‘Export DV’ in Streamclip and using Export Quicktime, then Apple DV/DVC Pro? If I’m just using video off of DVD from a 24p disc, I usually make them Photo-Jpegs @ 23.98, and edit that way. I’m not all that familiar with pulldown settings and such in Stremaclip, so perhaps someone else will shed more light.
