Stupid PPro upgrade questions
I’m currently using a matrox RTX100 card and Adobe suite CS2. I like it because we do mostly SD broadcast and it works well.
We now have 2 HPX200s (w/P2 cards) and a small canon hg20 AVCHD camcorder. CS2 don’t play with P2 or AVCHD so I am looking at buying PPro CS4 to work with those also. I downloaded CS4 trial ver to check it out but would like to ask some dumb questions for input anyway. (Humor me…please)1)Can I install PPro CS4 on the same box as my matrox/CS2 suite and use both versions independant of each other? (do I have to uninstall my matrox card/PPro CS2 in order to use CS4?)
2)I saw a video somewhere that had a screen shot of CS4 that showed a default setting for AVCHD projects. (make a new project/ available presets DV,,,hdv….dv24p…HD-sdi etc etc) But the trial didn’t have this???? Is there a preset for AVCHD and specifically a 1920×1080 24p and 30p setting?
3) Is there a preset for a HD 1920X1080? CS2 only has Adobe HD-SDI for AJA Xena HS System. I’m wondering if I can convert the AVCHD from the little Canon Cam to a regular 1920×1080 AVI file?? (or is that even recommended?)
