studio vs free
If you have moved from the free version to the studio, I would appreciate hearing whether you think it was a good move. Are there any drawbacks to Studio in terms of performance?
The collaboration features are not important to me; I’m mainly curious about performance and OpenFX options.

Some of the OFX plug-ins do need extra power (CPU and GPU), just as the NR options in Studio need more power.
Other than that, you get more source file compatibility, a larger number of resolutions, and a bunch of other things. I can’t find a comparison chart for 16, but here’s one for 15:

To me, it’s worth the money, and I think the purchase price is very modest.

The two main differences are noise reduction and output resolution. If you need to output higher Res than HD, then you will need Studio. Also the noise reduction is really good. Especially for any project that will be shown on a large screen. I believe that performance is the same between versions.
