    Hi again,I’m fiddling around with the lighting features trying to emulate true studio lighting such as seen in nearly every car ad in the world. I’ve tried grouping 4 area lights and softening them, but the definition goes out of the window, and when leave them sharp and bright I degrade the surface of the car.

    Please throw me a rope.

    Use luminous polygons (you can crank up luminance beyond 100%) and other geometry to create light reflections. You can introduce falloffs by texturing them with Fresnel and Gradient shaders. The simplest and most elegant way would be to find a suitable HDR file and use that to define the basic lighting mood (assuming you have Advanced Render).
