Activity Forums VEGAS Pro Studio 8 won’t import video file to Video Track

Ok. That MJPEG codec seemed to work with my still camera AVI files.

Now I have a problem importing a DIFFERENT AVI file (which I made by ripping a DVD that was made from an old VHS tape recording.) I used GSpot like you recommended to find the Codec and the Codec reported is DV50 DivX 5.0.5 which it says I DO have installed.

Yet, when I try to add my media to the Video track, it refuses to accept it and places it on the Audio track instead.

(I made sure I upgraded my Sony Vegas 8.0a to the latest 8.0c just in case that was a problem.)

Is there something I can do to get Vegas to accept the file for editing?

(My usual purpose is to edit various movie file types to upload to YouTube, Screencast, or Flash videos on Web sites.)

    Many thanks!
