Can some explain the difference between apps and extensions? I upgraded to studio 12 and see it allows for extensions. I installed one of the Vasst free apps and it appears to work. It created an extensions folder that wasn’t there before. I would love to have the videowall effect. I tried to putting the VideoWall dll and png files into that folder but nothing happens.

So it’s nice that studio 12 is closer than ever to pro but only allows fast apps not regular apps????

btw…love the slide maker in 12. Import your photos….move them around and with the proper settings you can get alternating pushes and pulls with dissolves between each photo. A click on the frame and you can quickly improve the target if the person is off center.

FasstApps is just a name for their pack of extensions

SCS decided that only FastApps can be used in Movie Studio versions. If you have Vegas Pro, you can install many other 3d-party extensions (free and paid)

That’s because Movie Studio doesn’t support general command extensions. The VASST FASST Apps are Sony’s first offering to provide extensions to Movie Studio and they are the only extensions that are authorized to work with Movie Studio Platinum 12.0. As Aleksey said, you would need to purchase Vegas Pro to have all extensions work.

If you would like a Video Wall FASST App we could certainly build one. I’m always interested in hearing what new features editors need. Feel free to send an email to VASST “ultimatesupport” with future suggestions. We are definitely interested in building new Apps that you want to use.
