OK folks, I need some help here. I’m stuck on what should be a simple thing. I need to move a camera along a spline. Yesterday it went fine, then I had to start over. Now I can’t seem to make it happen. I make a camera > make a spline > put an ‘align to spline’ tag on the camera and assign my spline to it. The camera doesn’t move to the spline. I can key frame the postion for 0-100%, but that’s it. I’ve looked in multiple books, the C4D users manual , searched message boards…. What am I missing? Everything I ready says it should be a really simple thing. I’m plucking out my beard hairs as I type.

Are you doing that in your old file? If you make a new project and do those steps (just the camera/spline/tag) does it work then?

Check if the camera has a keyframe locking it into a position.
I believe that would overwrite the tag.
If so, delete the keyframe and…?

Tried it on a new project, worked fine. Tried it yet again in the old one. Used a new camera and new spline, no go. What do I do now? Should I start a new project and copy over the objects and then create a new camera and spline? I’ll try that now, any other ideas? Could I have done something to cause this?

Well, I copied over everything but the camera and spline to a new project. Made a new camera and spline and it worked fine. Thanks for the help guys.

You didn’t by chance click the “Turn On/Off Animation” icon on the left of the editor window did you? It’s the one that looks like a film strip.
