Struggling with adding a fixed square blur to middle of video- Sony Vegas 14
I am a Youtuber and I have a very basic knowledge of Sony Vegas 14. I am trying to add a fixed square blur to the middle of a video. The video is of me scrolling through Facebook, and I would like to add a square blur, fixed in place to blur out people’s names and faces until a later portion of the video, where I show a certain post on facebook, at which point I would like the square blur to be removed, and then added at a later portion of a video.
I added a new video layer (an exact copy of the original video, on top), and clicked on “Event Pan/Crop” on the new layer. . I then clicked mask, and drew a small rectangle on the middle part of the video which I would like to be blurred. I then went to video FX and dragged and dropped “quick blur” to the new video layer. When I play both layers at the same time, nothing happens. It looks like the original video without any added effects. When I drag the original layer out from the new layer, I get a black screen.
I apologize if this question has been asked before, but is there a way to mark the exact timestamp that I want to blur to begin, and then mark out the timestamp that I want the blur to end? How do I figure out exactly when the blur begins and when the blur ends?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you so much. If there is another subreddit where this question is better suited please let me know. Sorry for my poor english
