I’m trying to figure out how to this text animation was made. In particular, I’m having trouble figuring out how the strokes were done.

The tricky part is that I want the letters to be closed shapes throughout the animation. I tried applying a swipe effect, but the swipe creates open shapes. The same thing will happen if I create my own masks.

I also tried the text stroke animations, but they only seem to animate the stroke in one direction, whereas I want to stroke to move out from a single point, in both directions and in a sweeping motion.

I’ve also tried various types of keyframe/mask interpolation, without any luck. In short, I’m really struggling with this one. And I would GREATLY appreciate any suggestions or ideas.

I am also including a still image, which might shed more light on how it was made.
