I see a lot of movie trailers, etc. with a dramatic stobe effect used alot as a transition between photos, graphics or video images. But in addition to the strobe effect the whole image/canvas array, for lack of a better term, “blitzes” shakes violently for a split second and then reestablishes the image or video. Is this done with the strobe filter and expressions or is it a third party plugin or is it a combination of filters. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Yes. Sorry it can’t get much more clear. Problem is, without a specific trailer to deconstruct, I don’t know what you mean by your descriptions and, worse, all of those folks use dramatically different approaches to achieve the same sort of visual effects. You might be able to research the trailer producers and even find some “how we did it” blogs.

But, besides simply recommending you simply pick one and try to emulate it using only what you know how to do now, I hope you get some more helpful suggestions.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”
