  • Stretching Text.

    I’ll do my best to succinctly explain what I’m trying to do.
    I’ve also added photos (because picture books are the best books.)

    I’m creating this shadow and can only manipulate it in a very linear fashion. I can grab a dot to stretch it’s width or length, or make it larger or smaller, but I’d really like to stretch it from one of the corners and make it more angled.

    See the shadow off the mailbox coming from the light source in the background, I really want my text’s shadow to match that angle. So that would require the text in the shadow to be stretch beyond the options I’m given, even in my transform panel.

    Any ideas? I feel like there’s got to be a very simple solution to this without buying any plug-ins.

    Thanks!

    Is your Shadow a copy of the text layer ?
    If yes try this:
    Effect > Distort > Transform ;
    Skew Axis: 90° and play with Skew

    Yep agree, Skew would make sense.

    Also try the Corner Pin effect, or if you want more control over the distortion try and Distortion Map.
