Stretching multiple regions at once
Posted by Stefan Schramm on January 7, 2016 at 12:20 pmWhen I want to change the length of several regions in the timeline by the same amount, is there a way to grab them all and drag them longer/shorter all at the same time? Ideally, using auto-ripple, gaps would close/widen accordingly.
Thanks,

January 7, 2016 at 1:30 pmJust to clarify, by “multiple regions” do you mean a series of events in a Vegas defined region or a series of multiple but individual events?

I think it’s the latter. Boxes in the timeline.

January 12, 2016 at 4:16 pmHere’s one way that will hopefully work for you.
Click on the first event (what Vegas calls a clip). Hold down the Shift key and click on all the others that you want to stretch/shrink.
Once they’re all highlighted, press the g key to group them together.
Now place your cursor at the end of the last event, hold down the Shift key and move it left or right as desired to stretch or shrink them. -

thanks for answering. Your suggestion works, but only if the regions are stacked. In my case, I was hoping to adapt consecutive regions. Even if they’re grouped, all regions except the one I’m clicking on while extending/shrinking are deselected.

January 22, 2016 at 3:31 pmStefan, I’m a bit confused by some of your wording.
Can you provide a screenshot of your timeline to better show what it is you’re trying to do? Thanks.
