Streching video in Premiere Pro
I ripped a DVD (legally, as it is for educational use) using DVD Shrink with no compression, resulting in several .VOB files. I had to convert the video through MPEG to AVI for Premiere to accept it, as for some reason Premiere crashes when trying to import certain MPEG files, which I believe is related to the different standard kHz of audio in these MPEGs vs. AVI. When it imports the video as an AVI, the picture has shrunk, presumably due to loss of quality from the multiple conversions. Because I know that the screen I will be showing the video on will be low definition, I doubt anyone would notice if I simply scretched the video to fit the screen. Unfortunately, I can’t find a way to do this in Premiere. I tried Window/Effects/Transform/Camera View/Zoom, and while this does xoom in on the video, it cuts of the edges at the same point it did before the zoom, as if I were watching the video through a black window. Is there anyway I can get the video to “stretch to fit” or something? Also, does Adobe make a patch or update to import .vob into Premiere Pro? I have looked but haven’t found one.

You should not need to stretch your video, but if you are so inclined to do so anyway, use the Motion effect that is automatically applied to every clip. The Scale parameter inside the Motion effect should do the trick.

The video may be 16:9. Try importing into a 16:9 Project preset.
