April 9, 2005 at 1:25 amFor progressive download movies, I render out of AE using the “composition>Make Movie” command to the Quicktime animation codec at the final frame size & frame rate. Try 480×360 or 320×240 at 15 fps for video sources. Next, I drag the video into Media Cleaner Pro for encoding to the Sorenson 3 Pro codec. You need Pro for high quality, low data rate encoding — regular Sorenson out of AE won’t do it.
The Sorenson Pro settings are usually spatial 50%, 15 fps, 75 KB/s, VBR, keyframe every 75. Audio is QDesign Music 2, 6 KB/s, 16-bit.
I’ve never made streaming movies, so if you want to know more, you might want to check out the docs on the Apple Quicktime site.
Hope that helps,
Steve
