Streaming light
Posted by Telarium on November 20, 2005 at 6:55 amCan anyone recommend a plugin or method for creating streams of light that emit from an object? Like if you put a flashlight up to a hole in the wall and the streams of light came through… essentially what the Mystical Lighting pluging does for Photoshop.

November 20, 2005 at 8:54 amTrapcode’s ‘Shine’ sounds like what your looking for. This is an excellent plugin which creates a ‘stream of light’ effect. Also, if you don’t want to buy Shine you can use AE’s built in version, Radial Blur, which isn’t as good as Shine, but can do the job in many situations.
Hope I’ve helped,

November 20, 2005 at 2:25 pmYou may be able to achieve a fair result without buying plugins. At one time there was an AE tutorial floating around on this, though I can’t locate it this morning.
This link shows an approach in Photoshop, which might translate to AE ok ..

November 20, 2005 at 5:00 pmWould Trapcode’s “Lux” not apply here as well? Especially for volumetric.
