  • Streamclip Not Playing Video Properly…

Posted by Mark Pybus on April 13, 2013 at 10:16 am

    Hello,

Whenever I load a file into Streamclip (1.9.2), the top 1/5th of the video is cut off. This happens regardless of what type of file I load into Streamclip. When I export from Streamclip, the exported file is fine, but I’m not able to properly view the file before the export.

This is problematic as the files are quite long and I only want to export certain clips.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks.

Since everything is working fine, but it’s not displaying okay, this leads me more to believe that something odd is going on with your user than anything else.

A quick & dirty solution would be to trash the prefs: it.alfanet.squared5.MPEGStreamclip.plist

If that doesn’t work, see what happens if you create a new user and if the problem remains.

I had this same problem. This solution worked for me:

    1) Be sure you have the most recent BETA version (1.93b8)

    2) Open Applications folder, select MPEG Streamclip’s application file, do “Get Info” (command-I)

    3) check “Open In Low Resolution”

    4) MPEG Streamclip should now work correctly.

Alas MPEGStreamclip developed stopped years ago. Note the beta (from 2012) never became a release version.
VLC is still very much alive for Playback and HandBrake for encoding otherwise it’s time to move on to other players.
