I’m using the Sony Z1U and during digitizing I’m getting a message that says “Steam Problem There was a problem with the stream. There might be a problem with your tape.” or something to that effect.

The tape plays back beautifully and there weren’t any hangups during shooting.

I shot 1080i50 and all of my settings are correct in FCP, as I’ve done this many times before.

The tape was brand new. Any ideas how to fix this?

I assume you are capturing native over firewire, is there any other way that you can capture, component into a capture card????
Is this the only tape you have an issue with?.

I shot only this one tape, so it’s the only tape I know of.

Thankfully I have my Kona card and capturing into that worked fine. However, I lose my timecode. VERY frustrating.

This is why I hate HDV.

I believe you can take a DV signal (as if you were down converting HDV to DV) out of the Firewire port off the camera/deck straight into the Mac and setup the device control for DV in the L&C Capture settings tab and set the Capture Input as DVC Pro HD.

    Good Luck
