As part of my move to using the Fairlight page in Resolve instead of the stand alone Fairlight I was looking for a solution to having dedicated but programmable keys for macros and functions that are normally mapped to an ascii keyboard. I found the combination of an Elgato Stream Deck panel and software by Sideshow that gave me a pre programmed keyboard layout, pre programmed keys and over a thousand pre made icons does a great job. I’m a huge fan of good control panels and good ergonomics. Not having to deal with a mouse or clumsy ALT+CTRL+Shift+ some random letter or Fkey makes life so much better.

All up the panel & software cost under $300US. In terms of productivity and ergonomics, that’s just a few hours of saved time which is going to only take most of us a few days work to be justified. The Sideshow software also has Adobe & FCP sets for sale as well so this panel is very useful for a lot of us. Thoughts?

Thanks for sharing this, Michael! I’ve recently started using the Surface Pro 7, and I’ve been missing the functionality of keyboard shortcuts while in tablet mode. This combination looks extremely useful!
