I’m rendering right now so i can’t look to be sure, but sounds like you might be looking for CC Smear or Scale Wipe. I also seem to recall using an effect with stretch in the name, but I think it is a third-party plugin. Haven’t seen the MK12 clips your refer to, but there are many other ways to stretch clips in AE…depends on specific look you want.

scale wipe is kind of the look I am looking for…although it distorts proportions of the image,
It doesn’t give nice lines, everything becomes fat and distorted (same and even worst with smear)
but this is the direction!

Hi,

The Smear plug-in from http://www.petewarden.com can do that. Any Tinderbox plug-in with the Source Crop set to repeat would do the trick.
The Effect>Channel>Minimax can also produce your effect. here is an example at the beginning of the animation:

I would also advise you to use the effects on a masked adjustment layer to alter only the necessary parts of your clip or graphic.
