I just rented “Stranger than Fiction” and thought that those visual effects were very cool. I realize that you could most definitely do them in After Effects (motion tracking, etc), but does anyone know for sure if they VFX artists specifically used After Effects? If anyone knows of any interviews or articles on it, I would LOVE to read about it! Thanx!

Look on your DVD, there is “The making of a GUI” (or something close to that title). It was MK12 who developed the look and I’ve heard they use AE, but dunno for sure on this. I loved the look of Stranger than Fiction (and the movie too).

Steve Kilisky (Product manager for AE from 3-7) told me it was AE.

Not sure if they did any 3D tracking (like with Bojou or SynthEyes), but it was definately AE motion graphics.
