I have a rather larege project that I am getting ready to archive. I selected my final sequences and did a find unused media for the selected sequences. Working great so far. The find window comes up listing many files. I start to go thru the files and delete about 10 files from the find window (using Shift D) and tell the system to move those files to the trash. When I comfirm that those 10 files moved to the trash at the finder I noticed that it somehow sent the majority of the files that I am using for my final sequences to the trash. Yikes! The good news the files are not deleted the bad news that this files exist on several drives and folders. Does anyone know a way I can tell os X to restore these files back to there original locations. (I know you could do this in OS 9 but I havent’ found a way to do this in OSX.

    FCP 5.1.4
    OS 10.4.10

I don’t know of any way to move the files back to where they came from.

Your best bet might be to move all of the files into one folder and then use media manager in FCP to carefully reconnect your media.

Then you could use media manager to organize your folders again.

You can simply drag the files out of the Trash & back to their original (or any) Capture Scratch folders, then reconnect the media.

    Russ,

Thanks for your help. I had to just manually reattach all the clips but I am about finished. Hopefully that won’t happen again.

    thanks
