Strange “sub-clipping” of original master clips when adding partial clip to sequence
Hi Everyone,
For the most part, we really like and value CatDV in helping us manage hundreds of hours for our feature documentary film projects.
But, there are some occasional slight bugs that we’ve sometimes experienced.
For example, we are currently experience is one strange issue whereby when we select an “in” and “out” of a clip, then drag it to a CatDV sequence, then the Master clip often turns into a shorter clip based on the chosen “in” and “out.”
The media duration for that shortened clip still lists the full length of the master clip, but when we play the clip in the CatDV viewer, we can only play and see the partial clip.
Also, the thumbnails still contain the thumbnails from the full master clip.
We tried looking for a way to remove ins and outs, choosing “toggle subclip limits” and “clear selection,” but we can’t find a way of viewing the entire master clip again except for reimporting the original video file as a second clip.
Are we not understanding something, or are we inadvertently choosing to see the clip in a partial view?
We are using CatDV 9 on that particular computer, and the clips are Standard Def DV codec clips that were converted from .mts to DV with Clipwrap (for our offline edit).
Thank you for your thoughts and help.
