STRANGE problems with MC 9000 on Mac g4
running 11.2.6 on 533 Digital Audio G4. All was well for years, but now its frealin out big time.
I am seeing green scan lines on the Master/Record window above my timeline. And picture is not full color but has green wash to it and a bit out of registration. Some of these scanlines are very apparent on the left quarter of the screen. My avid has Meridien II boardset, with Falcon and SDI option, as well as 888 audio. I also have SBS pci extender and Genie 3d board, as well as Ice board.
Now what I have tried so far is using another Falcon board (no luck), another Cactus board (no luck), another Gecko (no luck), another EDC (no luck). This is freakin killing me, and I am loosing my mind.
Anyone ever experience this before?? Please help me ! !

First off,ebay is your friend.
The first thing I’d check is the cable from the mac to the meridian. Mine went out about 4 years ago, and I was able to get one from Avid. You didn’t mention if you had assurance, but you may be able to score a single cable on ebay.
The Meridian boardset is pretty bombproof (mine’s been going since 1999), but again, ebay is your friend.
If you’ve got the cash (and can find one), upgrade your CPU to a (recommended) dual processor 1.8ghz G4, or a silver door 833mhz G4. You can only use OS 10.2.6, but I think you’ll see a noticable increase in performance
Although the Meridian system was probably the most stable pre-DNA system, it might be time to investigate moving to a Mojo/Adrenaline system. Having the ability to update your firmware via software updates, plus the fact Meridian is no longer supported (ver. 12.0.5 is the last upgrade) might make that jump more paletable.
