    Hi,

I recently upgraded to Snowleopard and FC Studio 3 and ever since I experience irregular problems with my keyboard settings in Final Cut.

I don’t see a scheme there…. sometimes when I load Final Cut the Keyboard setup is changed, when I try to correct it Final Cut tells me its english, not german keyboard layout(I am from germany) before I can readjust my key settings. But other programs don’t have this problem.
Also if I restart Final Cut… same problem. If I reboot the system I get correct settings again.

I tried trashing prefs etc. but the problem keeps reappearing.
Any hints or similar experiences since Snowleopard upgrades?
Oh yeah…. I am working with a Macbook Pro.

Did you do a clean install of the OS and FCP, or just upgrade?

Do a search on this forum under ‘clean install’.

    Hi Scott,

no, both OS and FCStudio are upgrade installs.
Can I install the Updates without having the previous installs before on a Macbook, I know that FCStudio will work but especially wonder about the OS 10.7 Update?

    Thanks for your help,

    Karim

That is most likely the problem.
I know Apple says you can upgrade, but in the real world it just ain’t so.
Treat both the OS, and FCP as a fresh install. As long as you have a valid ser# for FCP your good. The whole thing is on the upgrade discs.
I would suggest you do a search in this forum using ‘clean install’, and do a bit of reading first. It will save you a lot of headaches.
    Good luck with that.
