    Strange Frames…

    Hi, I’m new to video editing, and I have a problem. I hope you can help me.

    I’ve recorded a guitar video for Bluesjamtracks (camera: Toshiba Camileo, settings: 1080p, 30fps). The raw video seems to be strange in terms of frame rates, and so does the final rendered version of it. You can see the issue during the quick movements. Here is the video:

    I did several other videos with the same above settings, and it worked fine. However, this video seems to be wrong.

    My question is: what can I do to repair the original raw MP4 video? What project and rendering settings shall I use in Premiere? (I have Premiere CS3). Progressive scan, deinterlacing, etc? (I’m not an expert unfortunately, so I’m really thankful for any help.)

    I’m not sure I see it. I mean, the left hand has some motion blur – totally normal.

    You shot Progressive, keep it progressive throughout the entire process.

    Why not upload a 720p version.

    You can increase the shutter speed to cut down on motion blur.

    Thanks for your answer, Chris.
    I did 2 similar previous videos last week with the same camera and same CS3 settings, and there wasn’t any motion blur around my left hand.

    In this particular video, I’ve switched to Full HD/30fps on my camcorder. However, the video file size was around 700 MB (5 minutes playing time). In the case of the 2 previous videos, I shot them at 720p/30fps, and they were also around 700 MB (5 minutes guitar video each).

    So it seems that switching to a much larger resolution, the camcorder must have recorded less frames per minute, resulting in a similar filesize as the lower resolution previous videos. (I have set 30fps in all of the cases, so maybe it is the camcorder’s bug).

    And this would explain the motion blur. Do you have any suggestions, what can I do to “save” this video? I don’t want to re-film it.
