  • Strange colored shadows on signals through my DSR.11

    Hey:

    Hooked up my DSR-11 to a TV-set ( CRT )

Used the yellow out output – into yellow input on the CRT.

The picture gradually shows a yellow (gradient looking ) area on the left side of the picture – and a blue on the other side.
It gradually increases as I playback the
    DV tape.

The miscoloring is NOT recorded on the tape – and also shows up on the Tv when i Forewire a signal from FCp – through the DSR.

The DSR-11 is brand new. Tried on other CRTs – same problem…

Took out the DSR form the loop and did the same through the SOny Cam – into the CRT. Looks fine….

    Ideas anyone?

You’re using the lowest possible quality video connection out of your DSR11. Try the S-Video connection.

Since you’ve narrowed down the problem to the DSR, I’d suggest you have it looked at. Does it do this with all tapes? If so, the DSR has a problem… You are working in PAL? If so make sure the DSR’s switch in the back is set to PAL too.

    Thanks Jerry.

All my things end up broken.

The DSR is set to PAL.

If I feed signals via FCP – FIREWIRE – out to CRT – the problems still exist.
    So I dont even use a tape….

Is the DSR-11 sitting on or next to the crt? Just a wild shot in the dark, but you seem to have done the basic troubleshooting.
