I have a jpg background which I’ve imported. I cropped it so it fits nicely. I even set the “match output aspect”. It looks great in Vegas but when I render as mp4, I get 2 very thin black bands, one at the top, one at the bottom. As if the bg did not stretch completely. The rest of the video is fine, fitting the entire screen.

    How do I fix this?

    Thanks,

    Gilles

Vegas doesn’t seem to like full screen jpg’s….sometimes…

I find that I need to zoom in a bit just a hair..fixes it every time…lame but works…

    Hi Davd,

I did zoom in (crop)quite a bit but still, my mp4 has 2 thin black horiz lines (top/bottom). As mentioned, it looks great in the Vegas preview.

    Does anybody have any ideas?

Gilles,, I know you said that you did a “match output aspect” but were your project properties set to match your mp4 render settings?
If they weren’t, this could account for what you’re seeing.

If you are still locked with black bars, send me a few seconds of a clip… I’ll take a look at it…

    Thanks Dave and Mike,

I discovered that when I used the mp4 DVD template to render… all was well.

I was having the problem when rendering using the mp4 for Apple iPod 320×240 Video template.

I don’t know why using this template causes the pair of thin horiz black line to appear in the .mp4. Any idea?
