  • Strange audio delay while editing

    Hi,

I’ve been working with premiere pro for about 5 years now and haven’t run into this problem before. I’m using CS3 (and have been for a while) I dropped some footage into my timeline to edit, and when I hit space bar to preview the footage from the time line, the red play bar (scrubber or what have you) begins to move across the footage, but the video and audio doesn’t start playing for about half a second. When it begins to play, the vid and audio are perfectly synced, its just delayed, which makes precise edits tough.

Any idea what my problem might be? I haven’t changed my editing system or anything else since this problem began, I just noticed it today while editing.

PS I am editing footage that I’m pulling from an external USB hard drive, but thats nothing new and I haven’t had this issue in the past.

    Thanks for any help.

    -Chris
