Has anyone seen these strange artefacts on the first frame of .mxf files that are coming from the Sony fs7? This happens once in a while and always when I’m at the first frame of a clip..

Yes, this has been discussed on LiftGammaGain. I think it’s a CPU issue, not necessarily a Resolve problem, where the computer reacts about a frame late in decoding the XAVC segments.

    My workaround:

    1) extend the XAVC clip so that it starts a few frames early.
    2) split the clip at the point it’s supposed to begin.
    3) adjust the correction on the initial segment to black (either with a correction or opacity)
    4) if the “green flash” syndrome occurs, you won’t see it because it will be hidden underneath the opacity/black correction.

When you do this, my theory is that the computer is already in “XAVC decoding mode,” and the green glitches go away.

I have not had it happen on back-to-back XAVC clips, only cases where a timeline begins with black followed by an XAVC clip. It’s possible this could be improved with Resolve 15.1.2, which came out today.
