I’m working on several projects simultaneously that are requiring a lot of production planning, and I’m looking to shave some time off of the process. Does anyone have a good source for storyboarding software that they’ve used? I’ve taken a look at a few packages and have been impressed with FrameForge 3D (https://frameforge3d.com/) and PowerProduction’s StoryBoard Artist (https://www.powerproduction.com/artist.html)… but I’ve never used them. Any recommendations?

    Best regards,
    Ben

Frameforge3d has a trial available. Download it and give it a shot.

    Cheaper alternatives are –
    1. Springboard retaining the pencil and paper style at US$30; and

    2. Storyboard Tools at BP30

    Apologies, haven’t used them myself.

Cheaper still, earlier versions of Poser are free. As are many other 3d programs. Frame Forge looks great, mind you, but not everybody needs the boards so hyper-detailed.

A handy source for pre-made objects, both paid and free, for these kinds of programs is turbosquid.com

I still like my stick figures done in graphite. I give them to clients at the end of the show. “I didn’t know a 2-year-old could produce a video like that”….

Try Power Point!! It’s pretty robust. you can create your own layout and even make graphics and create presentations. Worth a look….
