Storm is super helpful for resolve jobs, can’t believe I waited this long to use it.

    • Exported a 7 layer xml timeline from FCP
    • imported timeline into Storm
    • Storm linked the media by searching through all 5 media drives
    • Consolidated to trimmed r3D’s from 4 TB to 150Gb.
    • each clip is its own R3d, so no screw-ups in Resolve with clips sharing debayer settings
    • Can “pre-grade” timeline in Storm (just faster than Resolve debayer popup), then pass RDM to Resolve and tweak if nec.

    Very cool.

You can do exactly same thing with free RCX.

Yep, both is correct and the only smart way to work with RED.
Until, of course the edit changes hit the floor and your “locked edit” is full of holes and the guy doing the red delivery on a tropical island 🙂
So if you do this, at least add 50+ handles.

Doesn’t it take ages to make new r3d files? Just asking. I might consider getting Storm if I get more r3d jobs.

Nope, its like opening a quicktime, cutting something off and saving it as new file…ultra fast.

Really? Trimmed r3d’s to new r3d files? How do I do that?
    Also multi-layer timelines?

Is there any software similar as Storm, but can also process DPX sequences and Arriraw files?
