Storage Solution for Small Company Growing Quickly
Hello!
I am looking for general information and suggestions as to what kind of storage system would best suit our company and vision. Here is a general run-down of how our video flow works:
8 out of 12 months of the year, we are covering events nearly every weekend which consume approximately 100-150 GB of storage per event. At the current time, we are using the 2GB Western Digital Passports to store and transfer video data among editors, but we do not have a solid backup solution/system in place. We are creating projects and posting to YouTube and social media on a daily basis, and also creating project on the road and at events, so the WD Passports work well in terms of portability.
Ideally, we are looking for a solution which will allow us to plug in these 2TB drives to a big storage device and backup data that’s not already on the storage device. That way, we have all backups on one central box and our externals floating around during on-site/mobile editing.
