    Hey there…I’m running FCPX 10.4.6 on a 27-inch IMac. I have 16GB of memory.

I started working on a particular Event within a Project and when I started doing a bit of work I get the “The storage location for one or more libraries is no longer available. The libraries will be closed so that no work is lost.” Never had this issue before.

    Rebooted several times…no changes.

Checked the plug-ins for the external drives. They seem fine.

Went to YouTube in search of a solution. A guy recommended trashing the Preferences…that didn’t work.

I have two external drives. I’ve never been very organized with where my media, etc. is….I’ve always just checked my drive capacity. So far, until now apparently, no issues.

My computer’s drive has about 300 GBs of available space.

One of my external drives has 11 GBs of storage available.

The other has a ton of space available (1.83 TB).

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,

    Scott

I suspect the drive with only 11GB free is the issue. FCP writes lots of temp files, and if there isn’t enough room, you can corrupt the entire drive’s filesystem.

As a rule, I never let a drive’s free space get below 10% (and prefer something closer to 25%). So if you’re working on a 2TB drive, keep 200GB free, minimum.

I’d try moving a substantial pile of media from one drive to the other to free up space, then try again.
