April 13, 2006 at 4:25 amStop motion is done in the camera… take a pc… move an element… take a pick… move an element… then import the sequence.
You could animation things in AE (position, rotation, etc)one frame at a time, a keyframe on every frame, but why not let AE interpolate the inbetweens? Maybe I don’t understand the question?

April 13, 2006 at 2:45 pmIf you are doing stop motion, there are quite a few free programs that allow you to sample a frame form a firewire source.
If you want it to look really good, use a digital SLR camera. Nikons and Cannon’s come with free software to trigger a photo and save it in incremental naming convention to a folder. Drop this folder into AE and it will play it as a movie.
