stop AE looking for referenced footage
hi folks
is there a way to open up an after effects project and skip the looking for referenced files (most of the files got lost due to a harddisk crash). as the project i am using has a lot of referenced movies and soundfiles it takes ages to open up.i am working on mac osx. the dialog window looking for the files is probably coming from quicktime not from after effects. still, maybe you now of a way.

thanks dave for your replay. i am aware of this possibility. due to the fact that there are really alot of referenced files in there it takes some hours to open up maybe even as long as a brain surgery would take. that’s why i asked if anyone knows of a solution to skip it.
my solution right now is to detach the after effects file from all referencing files so the there won’t be a searching process for the referenced files.jakob
