Stock Footage
Hello, I’m looking for a website that offers quality HD stock footage for a reasonable price. I’ve been on Artbeats and istockphoto but their prices are so ridiculously expensive, like $300 for a 15 sec clip. Would anybody know of site with resonable prices for stock footage

Google “stock footage” and a lot will pop up. If you find inexpensive footage be sure to check the small print. Even with more expensive sources you may not be obtaining all the rights you’d want. For example, if people are recognizeable, do you have the rights to display their likeness?

We’ve had good luck with https://www.pond5.com . Some of their clips are as cheap as $20. John is correct that just because you bought the clip, if a face is recognizable you really can’t use it without permission. The folks at Pond5 may be able to contact the owner of the footage to help you acquire rights. You can also check the search box on the site to show only those clips that already have the rights signed off.Mark D’Agostino
