  • stitching together images in ae?

I have an folder full of images that I want to stitch together into a single strip, so they look like a sort of like a film strip, but moving left to right, rather than top to bottom. Is this possible to do automatically in ae? I tried using photoshop’s photomerge function, but it is horrible.

I want to import the images and automate the process of positioning them next to each other. All of the images are the same size.

    Thanks,
    Jason

    Here’s how I’d do it:

Import the images, then calculate the size of the strip manually. Number of images times width of one image.
Next, create a new comp at that size, and drag all the images into it.
Next, place one image at the far left of the comp, where the left edge of the image is at the left edge of the comp. Its X-position is half the photo’s width.
Next, drag another image to the right edge, where its x-position is comp width minus half the photo’s width.
Next, select all the layers, then using the align & distribute palette, click on the distribute by centers button. Boom.
